***Porsche ended the Roar Before the Rolex 24 on top of the leaderboard, with the No. 7 Penske Porsche 963 of Felipe Nasr leading a 1-2-3 for the German manufacturer. The No. 10 Wayne Taylor Racing Cadillac V-Series.R of Filipe Albuquerque was the quickest non-Porsche in fourth, with a best lap that was more than four-tenths slower than Nasr’s benchmark, which was set in the opening session.

***Porsche LMDh factory director Urs Kuratle said: “We completed the test program cleanly and were able to focus exclusively on our plan throughout. The Porsche 963 ran flawlessly, and the drivers delivered strong performances. The results from JDC-Miller Motorsports show that our customer team has also made noticeable progress over the winter. We are ideally prepared for the season opener, although we will only really be able to assess the competitive order during race week.”

***Heart of Racing Team’s Aston Martin Valkyrie returned to action in the final “all-skate” session on Sunday morning after missing two of three sessions on Saturday due to an engine change. Marco Sorensen set the tenth quickest time in the GTP class, out of 11 cars.

***The final WeatherTech Championship test session on Sunday afternoon was reserved for FIA Bronze-rated drivers only, which was led by the No. 99 AO Racing Oreca 07 Gibson of PJ Hyett, despite having a late-session spin in mixed conditions.

***Trackhouse NASCAR Cup Series driver Ross Chastain toured the Action Express Racing transporter, garage and pit tent on Saturday, showing his support of teammate Connor Zilisch, who is making his GTP race debut next weekend in the team’s No. 31 Whelen-sponsored Cadillac V-Series.R.

***Chastain said: “The depth of the team and seeing it and asking Connor probably some silly questions, but it’s just some stuff that I never learned. It was just cool to learn about. We could be in this very pit stall for the Daytona 500 next month, and it doesn’t compare at all to this, which is good in our respective series.”

***Zilisch added: “It was cool to show Ross kind of where I came from, and he’s loves racing and just wants to see the different disciplines and see how teams do things differently from what we do at Trackhouse Racing. It was cool to show him around the car and walk him through the haulers — he’s seen all this stuff before, but it is a little bit different here in IMSA and with Cadillac.”

***Longtime Pratt Miller Motorsports car chief Brian Hoye retired during the off-season, which has seen gearbox technician Tom Dix, who worked under Dan Binks as a mechanic, stepping up to the No. 3 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 GT3.R entry in Hoye’s former position.

***Casper Stevenson, who has made the switch from Heart of Racing to DragonSpeed as part of its Michelin Endurance Cup lineup, said he was satisfied with the three-day test, with the biggest gains having come in “understanding” how to drive the Chevrolet Corvette Z06 GT3.R. The Corvette is the seventh different GT3 model that the 22-year-old will have raced.

***Stevenson said: “It’s hard to know exactly where we are, but we’ve done a lot of laps; I think close to the most out of everyone. The car has run faultlessly so I don’t see how it could have been more productive. I feel like we’ve made progress not just with the Corvette but also the small things like seat belts, the seats and everything.”

***Andrea Caldarelli is sporting a special helmet design for Daytona, highlighting the Lamborghini factory driver’s accomplishments with the Huracan GT3, which will be making its final appearance with a factory-supported team in the Rolex 24 before the debut of the all-new Temerario GT3 at the Mobil 1 Twelve Hours of Sebring in March.

***GetSpeed, again in association with drag racing’s Bartone Bros. Racing, is receiving logistics and crew support from RealTime Racing for its second Rolex 24 outing. The Peter Cunningham-owned operation, known for its success in SRO America/World Challenge competition, has lent a half-dozen staff, including team manager Nathan Bonneau, as well as its transporter and pit equipment to the German squad.

***Drivers Anthony Bartone and Fabian Schiller are coming off a season-opening class win in the Asian Le Mans Series last month at Sepang. The duo currently sits second in the GT points standings, having posted a sixth-place finish in the second race in Malaysia, with the final four races of the season set for Dubai (Jan. 31-Feb. 1) and Abu Dhabi (Feb. 7-8).

***GetSpeed are among the teams vying for an automatic invite to this year’s 24 Hours of Le Mans for the LMGT3 class. Both the Asian Le Mans GT and LMP2 class champions will receive the invites to the French endurance classic.

***IMSA, meanwhile, has yet to officially declare which team will receive its auto-invite for the Hypercar class. Last year’s GTP championship-winning team Porsche Penske Motorsport is ineligible due to there being no Porsche 963s racing in the FIA World Endurance Championship this year. Sportscar365 understands that either Wayne Taylor Racing or Action Express Racing will likely to get the nod, alongside the already confirmed Jim Trueman Award (PJ Hyett – AO Racing) and Bob Akin Award (Orey Fidani – 13 Autosport) winners for the LMP2 and LMGT3 classes, respectively.

***With TF Sport winning an additional auto-invite for its LMGT3 title in the European Le Mans Series, there will be at least four Corvettes at Le Mans this year, alongside the two full-season WEC entries from the Tom Ferrier-led squad, which is not present at Daytona this year after operating the Trackhouse Corvette GTD Pro entry in 2025.

***Fidani’s 13 Autosport, which remains unchanged from a crew standpoint as AWA now serves as the operations provider, is planning to test in Europe, either at Motorland Aragon or Paul Ricard in May with its Maple Leaf-liveried Le Mans car, chassis No. 022, according to the team’s competition director Jeff Braun.

***Louis Deletraz revealed that he will be unable to defend his European Le Mans Series LMP2 Pro-Am title due to a clash between the WeatherTech Championship race at WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca and the ELMS round at Paul Ricard in May. This specific clash is understood to have prevented several other GTP drivers from landing full-season ELMS LMP2 rides this year.

***The Cadillac Wayne Taylor Racing driver, however, revealed that AO Racing team owner/driver PJ Hyett has allowed him to miss the Paul Ricard round and will be in the AO by TF Oreca 07 Gibson for the five other ELMS rounds that do not conflict with his GTP commitments. The WeatherTech Championship LMP2 class is not in action at Laguna Seca that weekend, which allows the likes of Hyett and Dane Cameron to continue parallel programs.

***Will Power hinted he could be open to contesting additional sports car outings, although he indicated that he has his priorities on his new NTT IndyCar Series drive with Andretti Global. “Not during the season, but I definitely would have my eye on doing the Indy 8H race again,” Power told Sportscar365. “It’d be really cool to win that one considering I have one on the road course, one on the oval. Maybe Japan (Suzuka 1000km), I don’t know. Let’s see what Kenny says, if he’s happy with me after this race.”

***Newly announced Ford Racing FIA World Endurance Championship Hypercar driver Logan Sargeant, who is making his Rolex 24 debut in Era Motorsport’s LMP2 entry in a one-0ff appearance, revealed to Sportscar365 that the Meguiar’s Bathurst 12 Hour, as well as one day taking part in a NASCAR road course race, are among the things on his bucket list, which could be made possible in the future given his new factory role with the ‘Blue Oval.’

***With the Roar now complete, Daytona International Speedway goes quiet for two days, although the garage area will remain open for teams to continue prep work on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, before WeatherTech Championship teams kick off official on-track action on Thursday, which includes qualifying for the 64th Rolex 24 at Daytona.
