A new livery for the DeltaWing coupe has been revealed ahead of this weekend’s TUDOR United SportsCar Championship season-opening Rolex 24 at Daytona.
Designed by renowned motorsports artist Andy Blackmore, the Prototype class contender will make its Daytona debut in the hands of Andy Meyrick, Katherine Legge, Alexander Rossi and Gabby Chaves.
The DWC13 showed encouraging speed at the the Roar Before the Rolex 24 earlier this month, having lapped in the 1:40 range. It has since been given a 10kg weight break as part of IMSA’s pre-Rolex 24 Balance of Performance adjustments.
“I am very pleased with the car’s performance at Daytona so far,” said Don Panoz, DeltaWing Racing Cars Managing Partner. “I realize that it’s a big challenge for us, but the team has done a great job of getting the car prepared and sorting out the issues we had previously with the roadster.
“We want to be competitive but we realize that it’s a long race and there will be quite a few pit stops. We need to be disciplined and be able to adjust ourselves to the situation, so we can take advantage of opportunities. I’m looking forward to an exciting race.”
