Fidani Launches 13 Motorsports; AWA to Provide Support

Canadian racer Orey Fidani will embark on a new venture, launching 13 Motorsports in order to compete in the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship next year with support from AWA.

The No. 13 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 GT3.R, which was entered by AWA in the WeatherTech Championship in recent years, will run under the banner of Fidani’s newly formed 13 Motorsports stable starting in 2026.

AWA will remain involved in the program providing operational and technical support, with existing crew members also set to remain part of the operation. AWA founder/owner Andrew Wojteczko, meanwhile, will serve as team manager.

Fidani, who has raced with AWA since 2019, will remain part of the driver lineup for the No. 13 Corvette, with Matt Bell and Lars Kern also retained.

The latter will only contest the five Michelin Endurance Cup rounds, while a fourth driver for the Rolex 24 at Daytona will be announced at a later date.

“I’m really excited for this new venture with 13 Motorsports,” said Fidani.

“We’ve built a great group over the past few seasons, and I’m grateful to have everyone returning. You don’t change a winning team.

“With the move to our new, more spacious shop in Toronto, it feels like the perfect time to take the next step and keep pushing forward together.”

Fidani is fighting for the Akin Award in this weekend’s season-ending Motul Petit Le Mans, which would provide the Bronze-rated driver an invite to next year’s 24 Hours of Le Mans for the second consecutive year.
