The field has remained behind the safety car in the 64th Rolex 24 at Daytona due to fog as the race enters the final one-third mark.
A full-course caution was called at 12:45 a.m. ET, one hour prior to halfway, for low visibility around the 3.56-mile oval/road course, which has seen IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship competitors continue to run at controlled, reduced speeds.
It has added up to five hours of yellow-flag running so far.
The pair of Team WRT BMW M Hybrid V8s ran 1-2 at the 16-hour mark, although the lead, in all four classes, have swapped hands as teams pit for energy and fuel and mandatory driver changes due to the four-hour maximum drive time in a six-hour period.
Both of the Penske Porsche 963s have undergone repair work during the yellow, including an apparent issue underneath the nose of the No. 7 car following a driver change from Felipe Nasr to Julien Andlauer.
Despite this, the pair of factory Porsches remain on the lead lap due to several wave-by procedures.
The safety car has so far undergone two swaps in order for refueling reasons.
IMSA has indicated that green flag racing may not resume until 9 a.m. ET due to the inclement weather.
