Ford Multimatic Motorsports has overhauled its driver lineup for the 2025 IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship season, with three of the four full-season drivers having all departed.
Joey Hand, Dirk Mueller and Harry Tincknell will not return to the factory GTD Pro squad next year, and have been replaced by Christopher Mies, Frederic Vervisch and Seb Priaulx.
Priaulx, who withdrew mid-season from the eventual class championship-winning AO Racing Porsche 911 GT3 R, will partner with Mike Rockenfeller in the No. 64 Ford Mustang GT3, with the team’s endurance drivers Mies and Vervisch being promoted to full-time rides in the No. 65 car.
Rockenfeller is the only one of the four season-long drivers to be returning to the team after its first campaign with the Multimatic-built cars.
Fellow Ford-contracted drivers Ben Barker and Dennis Olsen, meanwhile, will complete the lineups for the Michelin Endurance Cup races next year, with Barker in the No. 64 and Olsen in the No. 65 entry.
“Race teams are always evolving in order to drive success forward and this infusion of fresh talent will accelerate the performance of Mustang GT3,” Ford Performance global motorsports director Mark Rushbrook said in a column.
“With these driver lineup changes, I wanted to talk about this year’s drivers: Joey Hand, Dirk Müller, and Harry Tincknell.
“I want to extend my deepest gratitude to Joey, Dirk, and Harry for their invaluable contribution to the Mustang GT3’s journey.
“Their unrivaled expertise has been essential to the development of the Mustang GT3 and the hours they put in, pounding around race tracks across the U.S. laid the groundwork for this race program.
“Joey and Dirk will always be special to Ford as they won Le Mans for us in 2016, and while they may not be in our IMSA squad this season, you certainly haven’t seen the last of them. In fact, you’ll soon hear more about Dirk’s latest endeavors.
“I’m excited about this driver lineup. It is a fast line-up that will allow us to build on our performance in 2024, and I look forward to seeing what this team will accomplish in the coming season.”
A Ford Performance spokesperson told Sportscar365 that Hand, Mueller and Tincknell will all remain Multimatic-contracted drivers, with Hand also continuing to be part of the Ford Performance driver roster.
Mueller, meanwhile, has been tipped to join HRT’s recently announced Mustang GT3 program in Europe, while Tincknell has been linked to Heart of Racing Team’s Aston Martin Valkyrie AMR-LMH effort in the FIA World Endurance Championship.
