Mikael Grenier led the way in the seventh and final session in the IMSA-sanctioned test at Daytona International Speedway, putting 75 Express atop the time sheets for the first time this weekend.

The Canadian driver recorded a best lap of 1:47.187 in his No. 75 Mercedes-AMG GT3 Evo to outpace the No. 911 Manthey Porsche 911 GT3 R Evo of Thomas Preining by 0.513 seconds.

Grenier’s time, in the car he shared with NTT IndyCar Series star Will Power and team owner/driver Kenny Habul, was the third-quickest of the test in the production-based ranks over the two days of testing, behind the Nos. 48 and 57 Winward Racing Mercedes-AMGs.

The No. 28 RS1 Porsche 911 GT3 R Evo of Jan Heylen was third quickest in the final session, although the car brought out a red flag roughly one hour in when the U.S.-based Belgian sustained a right-rear puncture and stopped on the apron of NASCAR Turn 4.

Heylen’s 1:47.750 lap time, however, was the fastest GTD class entry in the three-hour long session, ahead of the GTD Pro class No. 48 Winward Mercedes-AMG of Luca Stolz in fourth.

Callum Ilott completed the overall top-five in the No. 120 Wright Motorsports Porsche, meanwhile.

Fourteen of the 17 GT entries turned laps in the session, which marked the final official running for the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship this year.
