IMSA has impounded the diffusers from all of the DP-based machinery from last weekend’s Continental Tire Road Race Showcase for evaluation.
An IMSA spokesperson confirmed to Sportscar365 that the diffusers have been taken to NASCAR’s R&D Center in Concord, N.C., where they will undergo further testing.
Action Express Racing claimed its first 1-2 finish of the season on Sunday, while DPs swept the podium, with the pole-sitting Chip Ganassi Racing Riley-Ford finishing third overall.
A total of five DPs took part in the race, with the platform having remained undefeated this season in Prototype class competition.
Points from the ninth round of the TUDOR United SportsCar Championship remain provisional and either official points or revised provisional results and points will be issued once the evaluation is completed.
It’s unclear when a final ruling will be issued, although it’s expected to come prior to a GM-hosted test at Road Atlanta on Aug. 26-27 for the Action Express, VisitFlordia.com and Wayne Taylor Racing teams.
