There will be two IMSA-sanctioned tests next year for WeatherTech SportsCar Championship competitors, in addition to the Roar Before the Rolex 24, following news of a return of its traditional Sebring test next February.
Confirmed in a bulletin sent to competitors last week, Sebring International Raceway will stage an optional test on Feb. 11-13.
Recent years have seen teams organize private testing at the 3.7-mile airfield circuit, without an official IMSA-sanctioned testing opportunity.
Additionally, IMSA confirmed the date of its December test at Daytona International Speedway for Dec. 15-17, 2025.
This is not to be confused with this year’s sanctioned test at Daytona, which is set for Nov. 15-17, allowing teams to prepare for the 2025 Rolex 24 at Daytona and season ahead.
The annual Roar Before the Rolex 24, meanwhile, is scheduled for Jan. 17-19.
Additionally, IMSA has stipulated testing blackout periods for LMP2, GTD Pro and GTD teams at Sebring (Jan. 26-March 15) and Daytona (Oct. 11, 2025-Jan. 15-2026) that doesn’t included the sanctioned tests or race events.
LMP2 teams will be allowed up to ten test days next year, with GTD Pro and GTD teams allocated a maximum of four days, with the team’s Bronze-rated driver given two additional test days that include up to one hour of non-Bronze driver participation.
The testing restrictions for the three classes does not include the IMSA-sanctioned tests.
