Seb Priaulx said he is “looking forward to being back at home” in Mustang machinery with Ford Multimatic Motorsports after being included in the team’s revamped GTD Pro lineup for the 2025 IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship season.

The 23-year-old Multimatic-contracted driver will pilot the No. 64 Ford Mustang GT3 in his first factory WeatherTech Championship campaign, returning to competition with both the Blue Oval and Multimatic for the first time since 2020.

“This is something I really wanted,” Priaulx told Sportscar365. “I’m really, really thankful to Ford and Multimatic [for] giving me the opportunity to come out here and race in their car.

“I had the experience before in GT4 in the Mustang, and to come here now in this car, I’m just really looking forward to being back at home.”

Priaulx made his professional sports car racing debut in the 2019 British GT Championship behind the wheel of a Multimatic Ford Mustang GT4, where he finished second in the GT4 points on the back of two wins with four podiums.

That season, Priaulx also won the final round of the Michelin Pilot Challenge season at Road Atlanta in his series debut alongside Austin Cindric, again aboard a Multimatic Mustang GT4, ahead of a partial 2020 series campaign.

Priaulx was also crowned the inaugural Porsche Carrera Cup North American champion in 2021 with Kellymoss.

“I love being a part of Ford and Multimatic,” said Priaulx. “It’s where I started GT racing.

“I won in the Multimatic Mustang [GT4] and the Ford, which is where I started. It’s nice to be back here in the proper program. I’m really excited for the future and just able to drive for Ford and Multimatic.

“It’s my home, and I’m looking forward to getting out there.”

Priaulx has since finished on the Rolex 24 at Daytona class podium twice in three attempts and a contested full GTD campaign with AO racing in 2023 before his GTD Pro effort with eventual class champion Lauren Heinrich was cut short this season, despite two race wins with the Gunnar Jeannette-led squad.

Next season, Priaulx joins a pair of Ford factory drivers in the No. 64 Mustang GT3 in the form of full-season co-driver Mike Rockenfeller and Michelin Endurance Cup driver Ben Barker.

“I had a good year this year,” said Priaulx. “We won some races, and it’s nice to be back. I obviously enjoyed my time with AO Racing, but I had other stuff that was going on, and this is one of them, so I’m happy to be back.

“Having Mike and Ben with me is absolutely awesome. I think, being here, this is going to be my fourth Daytona, and having these guys by my side is great.

“It just helps having that experience. I haven’t driven this car [at Daytona] before, but it’s got good potential to do great things, and I’m really excited for that, so I’m just going to go out there and give it my all.”

While a win eluded the new-for-2024 Mustang GT3 this year, the No. 64 car finished on the class podium twice, and after testing the car at last weekend’s IMSA-sanctioned test at Daytona International Speedway, Priaulx said he has his sights set firmly on not only race wins, but on the GTD Pro title in 2025.

“I want to win,” said Priaulx. “That’s everybody’s goal, but it’s to win the championship overall.

“I want to be winning this championship. It’s about finishing and keeping it clean, but also, if the win’s there, you go for it. But I want to win this championship. That’s the goal.”
