Porsche factory GT driver Mathieu Jaminet will make his LMP2 debut in next weekend’s Rolex 24 at Daytona driving for the RWR Eurasia squad.
Jaminet, who recently won the 24 Hours of Dubai with GPX Racing, is the fourth and final driver to be named for the joint entry between Rick Ware Racing and Eurasia Motorsport.
The Frenchman will share the No. 51 Ligier JS P217 Gibson with Cody Ware, Salih Yoluc and NASCAR Cup Series racer Austin Dillon.
Jaminet is set for his maiden race appearance in a prototype, with his racing career since 2015 dedicated to driving Porsche single-make and GT machinery.
He became a Porsche Junior in 2016 and worked his way through the manufacturer’s young driver development program before signing as a full works team member last year.
Jaminet represented the factory Porsche GT Le Mans team in the two most recent editions of the Rolex 24 at Daytona and finished on the class podium on both occasions.
Those outings formed part of his two-year role as Earl Bamber and Laurens Vanthoor’s additional co-driver for the IMSA Michelin Endurance Cup events.
