Marvin Kirchhofer will complete AWA’s lineup for next month’s Rolex 24 at Daytona, joining Orey Fidani, Matt Bell and Lars Kern behind the wheel of the team’s No. 13 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 GT3.R.
Kirchhoffer, a McLaren-contracted driver, took part in a full season IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship program in Pfaff Motorsports’ McLaren 720S GT3 Evo this year.
“I’m incredibly thankful to McLaren for giving me the opportunity to race with AWA, as I’m still under contract with them as a factory driver,” he said. “Their support means a lot to me.
“I’m also very excited to be back in a Corvette. I raced the C7 back in Germany, and it was one of my most successful years. Now, I’m looking forward to driving the C8. Daytona wasn’t ideal for me this year, but last year, we finished third in GTD.
“As we all know, there’s only one goal for the Daytona race: to win and, of course, to earn the iconic Daytona watch.
“I’m also excited to be racing with the AWA crew, as they have proven time and time again that they are a championship-pedigree team. I look forward to working with Orey Fidani, Matt Bell, and Lars Kern.
“This is a fantastic opportunity, and I’m thrilled for the new challenge. I’m extremely grateful to Pratt Miller for their trust and the chance to be part of this effort.”
Kirchhoffer’s signing with AWA suggests there may not be a McLaren on the grid for the WeatherTech Championship season next year.
Pfaff, which is known to be evaluating its options for 2025, has put its 720S GT3 Evo up for sale.
