Kamui Kobayashi will return to Wayne Taylor Racing for next year’s Rolex 24 at Daytona, in pursuit of back-to-back wins in the Florida endurance classic.
Announced on Friday at a Konica Minolta event in Tokyo, the Toyota Gazoo Racing LMP1 driver has been confirmed as part of the WTR’s lineup in its Cadillac DPi-V.R, which Kobayashi took to victory alongside Jordan Taylor, Renger van der Zande and Fernando Alonso this year.
No other drivers were announced at the press conference, which was attended by team owner Wayne Taylor.
Kobayashi made his IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship debut in the race and has since focused on his FIA World Endurance Championship commitments with Toyota, as well as contesting selected Super Formula races in Japan.
The 32-year-old Ex-Formula 1 driver has also been re-signed by Toyota for the 2019-20 WEC season.
