NTT IndyCar Series star Scott McLaughlin has been confirmed in DXDT Racing’s lineup for the Rolex 24 at Daytona, with the Kiwi set for his second consecutive race appearance in a Chevrolet Corvette Z06 GT3.R.
McLaughlin, who tested Penske’s Porsche 963 late last year with a view to contest the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship season opener in the GTP class, will instead be in the GTD ranks alongside newly named full-season driver Mason Filippi, as well as the returning Charlie Eastwood and Salih Yoluc, who are both again set to undertake the Michelin Endurance Cup rounds in the No. 36 entry.
Notably absent from the lineup is Robert Wickens, who took part in the sprint race portion of the season last year and had expressed hopes of stepping up to a full-time effort with the David Askew-owned operation.
McLaughlin, who has links with Chevrolet through IndyCar, took part in last year’s Florida Endurance Classic in Trackhouse by TF Sport’s Corvette in GTD Pro, while more recently finishing on the podium in the revived Suzuka 1000km Intercontinental GT Challenge race last September.
“It’s an honor to join DXDT Racing for Daytona,” said McLaughlin. “The Corvette Z06 GT3.R is an impressive machine, and working alongside Charlie, Salih and Mason gives us a really strong package
heading into one of the world’s most demanding races.”
Filippi, meanwhile, made his WeatherTech Championship debut in the final two rounds last season in Gradient Racing’s Ford Mustang GT3 and brings a number of years of Michelin Pilot Challenge experience with him in the TCR ranks with Bryan Herta Autosport.
“I’m thrilled to be a part of the Rolex 24 at Daytona with DXDT in the Corvette,” he said. “There’s nothing in racing quite like this event, and the amount of preparation the team has put in for this race has been incredible to watch.
“I’m grateful to Hanley Motorsports and DXDT for the opportunity and for the trust they’ve placed in me. The 24 is a true test of execution, discipline, and teamwork, and I’m looking forward to doing my part and competing against some of the strongest lineups in IMSA.”
The 2026 season will mark DXDT’s second year in WeatherTech Championship competition after spending a number of years in GT World Challenge America powered by AWS.
“Continuing with Charlie and Salih ensures valuable continuity, Mason solidifies the program for the full year and Scott adds world-class depth to the Daytona roster,” said Askew. “Collectively, the lineup reflects one of the strongest and most balanced combinations in DXDT Racing’s history.”
Filippi’s co-driver for the five sprint races has yet to be announced.
