Multiple GT cars have received weight reductions ahead of the next IMSA WeatherTech Championship round at Watkins Glen International, as part of the latest Balance of Performance adjustments.
Confirmed last weekend in a technical bulletin, the Mercedes-AMG GT3 Evo, McLaren 720S GT3 Evo and Lamborghini Huracan GT3 EVO2 have all received 20 kg weight breaks, while the Ferrari 296 GT3 will shed 30 kgs from its previous configuration.
Additionally, the Chevrolet Corvette C8.R GTD will have a 5 kg weight reduction and 6.7-horsepower increase, with the Lexus RC F GT3 also getting a larger air restrictor, equating to an additional 8.4 horsepower.
The Lexus, meanwhile, has also been handed a 3-liter increase in fuel capacity, with the Acura NSX GT3 Evo22 losing 3 liters.
The wholesale changes, which are applicable to both the GTD Pro and GTD classes, come after the opening four rounds of the season that have seen class wins by Aston Martin, Mercedes, Porsche, BMW and Lexus.
IMSA has yet to release the BoP for the GTP class for the third round of the Michelin Endurance Cup season.
