The Porsche 963 has been given a weight break and power increase for next weekend’s Motul SportsCar Grand Prix at Road America, as part of the latest Balance of Performance adjustments.

Released by IMSA on Thursday, the GTP championship-leading car will be 9 kg lighter than it was at the most recent class round at Watkins Glen International, while also getting a 0.4 percent increase in Stage 1 power levels.

However, the Porsche’s biggest gain comes with Stage 2 power, which will see a 5.2 percent increase at speeds more than 240 km/h, which should be well-suited to the high-speed Road America circuit.

This compares to a 20 kg weight increase for the Cadillac V-Series.R, which gets a 2.1 percent reduction in first-stage power and a 0.4 percent reduction in second-stage.

While the BMW M Hybrid V8 gets a 15 kg weight break, it only receives a 0.9 percent gain in Stage 1 and 0.1 percent reduction in Stage 2.

The Acura ARX-06, meanwhile, remains at 1038 kg, but receives a 3.1 percent power reduction in Stage 1 and a 1 percent reduction in Stage 2.

Aston Martin’s Valkyrie is the only GTP car to remain unchanged since The Glen.

On the GTD Pro and GTD side, there have been several swings as well, most notably the Ferrari 296 GT3, which gets a 26 kg weight break, a 1.4 percent increase in Stage 1 power but a 3.6 percent decrease in Stage 2 levels.

The BMW M4 GT3 EVO, meanwhile, receives a 17 kg weight reduction, along with a 3.6 percent and 3.5 percent reductions in first and second stage power levels, respectively.

The Chevrolet Corvette Z06 GT3.R, however, gets a 15 kg weight increase, along with 1.7 percent decrease and 0.9 percent increase in power in the two stages.

While remaining unchanged in weight since the last GT round at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park, the Ford Mustang GT3 loses 4.3 percent of its power at both levels and the Lamborghini Huracan GT3 EVO2 gains 3.4 percent but loses 6 percent at Stage 1 and 2 levels, respectively.

Mercedes-AMG’s GT3 Evo, meanwhile, gets a 3.8 percent Stage 1 power increase but a 7.2 percent decrease at speeds more than 200 km/h.

Of note, the Ferrari (GTD Pro) and Lamborghini (GTD) won their classes at CTMP, while Acura is coming off two consecutive GTP wins.
