The Porsche 963 has been given a weight break and slight power increase ahead of next weekend’s title-deciding Motul Petit Le Mans.

Confirmed by IMSA in the final round of Balance of Performance adjustments released on Wednesday, the GTP entry has been given a 6kg weight decrease and a 1 percent increase in first-stage power levels below 230 km/h.

No change has been made to the car’s second-stage power level, although in terms of weight, the Porsche is still the heaviest car in the class by 12kg over the Cadillac V-Series.R, which remains at 1042kg.

Conversely, the Acura ARX-06, has been handed an 8kg weight increase and a 0.3 percent cut in first-stage power.

While the drivers’ championship is firmly in the hands of Porsche Penske Motorsport, Porsche currently leads Acura by only seven points in the GTP manufacturers’ championship standings.

Other BoP changes in GTP include a 3kg weight break for the BMW M Hybrid V8, along with a 0.6 percent and 0.4 percent increase in power levels, respectively.

The Cadillac, however, receives a 0.8 percent and 0.9 percent reductions in power.

No BoP changes have again been made to the Aston Martin Valkyrie or Lamborghini SC63, which both remain at the baseline 1030kg weight and maximum 520kW power levels.

BMW, Corvette, Ferrari, Lexus Receive Power Increases in GT

Multiple GT manufacturers will head into the ten-hour season finale at Michelin Raceway Road Atlanta with power increases.

It notably includes the BMW M4 GT3 EVO (+4.2 percent), Chevrolet Corvette Z06 GT3.R (+4.1 percent), Ferrari 296 GT3 (+3.9 percent) and Lexus RC F GT3 (+5.1 percent), all at first-stage power levels below 190 km/h.

The Lamborghini Huracan GT3 EVO2 is the big gainer in second-stage power, getting a 3.7 percent increase since the last round at Indianapolis Motor Speedway, with the BMW notably receiving a 2.4 percent boost.

BMW’s power increase in both stages, however, comes amid a 12kg increase in the car’s minimum weight, the same amount the Ferrari 296 GT3 has also been handed.

The Ford Mustang GT3 has also been weighed down with an additional 7kgs since the last race, while the Lamborghini gets a minor 2kg weight increase.

All GT cars, except for the Lamborghini (+1.7 degrees) and Porsche 911 GT3 R (-1 degree) receive a 1 degree increase in minimum rear wing angles.
