The Sahlen’s Six Hours of The Glen has been red-flagged due to lightning in the area with less than 90 minutes left on the clock.

The stoppage came during the race’s sixth full-course caution due to a heavy accident for the No. 39 Carbahn with Peregrine Racing Lamborghini Huracan GT3 Evo of Jeff Westphal, who was tagged by the No. 20 High Class Racing Oreca 07 Gibson of Fabio Scherer and the No. 29 Racing Team Nederland entry driven by Dylan Murry.

Westphal was evaluated and released from the medical center.

IMSA elected to bring out the red moments later due to severe weather in the area.

The No. 60 Meyer Shank Racing Acura ARX-05 of Tom Blomqvist currently leads the race, with the clock continuing to tick down.

DragonSpeed’s Juan Pablo Montoya leads LMP2, while the No. 74 Riley Motorsports Ligier JS P320 Nissan of Felipe Fraga is out front of LMP3.

GTD Pro sees the No. 62 Risi Competizione Ferrari 488 GT3 Evo 2020 of Daniel Serra out front, with Philip Ellis leading GTD for Winward Racing.

The earliest resumption of racing will come after 30 minutes of the latest lightning strike within a defined radius of the circuit.
