Mike Skeen will make his first IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship start since the Mobil 1 Twelve Hours of Sebring, having been confirmed as the third driver in Conquest Racing’s Ferrari 296 GT3 for next weekend’s Motul Petit Le Mans.
The Silver-rated ace, who was initially part of Triarsi Competizione’s IMSA Michelin Endurance Cup lineup in the No. 021 Ferrari until full season drivers Sheena Monk and Stevan McAleer departed the team shortly before the Sahlen’s Six Hours of The Glen, join forces with the Conquest pairing of Daniel Serra and Manny Franco for the ten-hour season finale at Michelin Raceway Road Atlanta.
Skeen takes the seat of fellow Silver Ben Tuck, who drove for the Eric Bachelart-owned team at both Watkins Glen and most recently in the Battle on the Bricks at Indianapolis Motor Speedway, where the No. 34 Ferrari scored a podium finish in GTD.
“I’m very excited to join Conquest for Petit Le Mans,” said Skeen. “Road Atlanta is like a home track for me and we’ve already had a successful test there. The team has been quick this season and I’m greatly looking forward to helping them achieve a great result to finish out the year.”
The Indianapolis-based team heads into Petit Le Mans as the defending GTD class winner of the race.
“We had the chance to work with Mike during a recent test and he immediately showed very promising pace,” added Bachelart. “We are excited to welcome him into the team, he will be a valuable asset alongside Manny and Daniel for Petit Le Mans.
“We are aiming to finish the season on a high note, and I am confident that we have an exceptional lineup to be able to compete at the highest level.”
