Harry Tincknell set the pace in morning warmup for this evening’s Chevrolet Sports Car Classic at Detroit’s Belle Isle.
The Mazda Motorsports driver took his Mazda RT24-P to a quick lap of 1:21.021 in the 20–minute session, which ran without major incident.
Tincknell was 0.136 seconds faster than the No. 60 Meyer Shank Racing Acura ARX-05 of Dane Cameron, with Tristan Vautier rebounding from an accident in qualifying to post the third quickest time in the No. 5 JDC-Miller Motorsports Cadillac DPi-V.R.
GT Daytona was led by the No. 14 Vasser Sullivan Racing Lexus RC F GT3 of Jack Hawksworth, who edged out the No. 96 Turner Motorsport BMW M6 GT3 of Bill Auberlen.
Nineteen of the 20 cars turned laps in the session with the No. 75 SunEnergy1 Racing Mercedes-AMG GT3 Evo sitting out the session.
The Chevrolet Sports Car Classic gets underway at 5 p.m. ET with live coverage on NBCSN and on IMSA Radio.
