Two additional LMP2 teams have been confirmed for its return to the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship next year, with United Autosports and Tower Motorsports firming up plans to again be on the grid with Oreca 07 Gibson machinery.

The Anglo-American squad will be back with its two-car effort, with Bronze-rated drivers Daniel Goldburg and Phil Fayer its first two confirmed drivers.

Goldburg, who currently sits second in the drivers’ championship entering next month’s season-ending Motul Petit Le Mans, was part of the team’s Rolex 24 at Daytona class-winning lineup alongside Paul di Resta, Rasmus Lindh and James Allen, while also taking top class honors in the Sahlen’s Six Hours of The Glen in June.

“These first two seasons have been the best experience of my racing career,” said Goldburg. “I can’t thank Richard [Dean] and the whole United Autosports organization enough.

“They, along with my co-drivers Paul and Rasmus have brought the best out of me.

“I’m training harder than ever, pushing harder than ever and we’re having great results. I want to keep the momentum going so I’m very pleased to announce my third season with the team.”

Fayer, who drove the No. 2 Oreca in the LMP2 sprint rounds at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park and Road America, meanwhile, will step up to a full-season effort with United.

He replaces 2024 class champion Nick Boulle for the Michelin Endurance Cup races.

“I’m thrilled to be joining United Autosports USA for the full IMSA season in 2026,” said Fayer.

“IMSA is such a fun and competitive series. I’m looking forward to continuing to develop as a driver and contributing to the team’s success throughout the season.”

Earlier this week, IMSA also confirmed Tower’s entry for the 2026 season, with Bronze-rated John Farano as its first driver.

The 2022 class champions, which are three-time Motul Petit Le Mans LMP2 winners, have scored a season-best finish of second at Sebring this year with Farano, Sebastien Bourdais and Sebasian Alvarez.

The Ricky Capone-led organization will be back for a seventh consecutive season, dating back to the team’s previous ownership of Starworks Motorsport.

United and Tower join the already announced LMP2 efforts from Bryan Herta Autosport with PR1/Mathiasen Motorsports and Intersport Racing.
