Porsche Carrera Cup North America presented by The Cayman Islands star drivers Kay van Berlo and Alan Metni will step up to full-time IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship competition this year in a Kellymoss with Riley Porsche 911 GT3 R.
The pairing will be joined by Porsche-affiliated drivers Jaxon Evans and Julien Andlauer in the No. 91 Porsche for this month’s season-opening Rolex 24 at Daytona, as part of the Wisconsin-based squad’s newly confirmed two-car full season GTD campaign.
“We are thrilled to have created a learning rich environment for our company, team, and drivers,” said team owner Andy Kilcoyne.
“Championship level service is a mission for Kellymoss and the Riley partnership allows for us to tackle this in our first true foray into this level of racing. This should be a great race season.”
Riley President Bill Riley added: “It’s great to have another strong car entered in the 24 hour with Kellymoss. The driver lineup is strong and we had a quick shakedown with the car before the holidays. I’m looking forward to a solid event.”
Both van Berlo and Metni drove as part of Kellymoss’ expansive Carrera Cup program over the last two seasons, producing numerous wins and Metni claiming the Pro-Am class championship last year.
“We are getting the band back together,” said Metni. “It’s great to be running with Kellymoss for a sixth straight season.
“We enjoyed strong results in the Carrera Cup and I am looking forward to continuing that on a bigger stage.
“I’m also delighted to be driving with Kay who is hella fast and a great teammate and look forward to working with Jaxson, Julien and the team at Riley. This is the perfect challenge and a phenomenal learning opportunity for me.”
Van Berlo, meanwhile, won last year’s Rolex 24 in a Riley-entered Ligier JS P320 Nissan in LMP3 alongside his Carrera Cup commitments, which netted the Dutchman claiming six wins last year and en route to a runner-up finish in the Pro class.
“After two seasons in Carrera Cup North America and one season in the IMSA Endurance Cup I’m ready to make the transition to GTD full time.” said van Berlo.
“I have worked with both teams in the past and we have achieved many successes along the way. I can’t thank them enough for
the opportunity and I’m excited to continue our journey together.
“Having Alan as a full time teammate is great. He’s fast and great to work with. With Jaxon joining us for the endurance races, with whom I have worked in the past, and Julien for Daytona, I’m confident that we will achieve great results together.”
Kilcoyne confirmed that Alec Udell and David Brule, who were announced for the Michelin Endurance Cup races in the No. 92 Porsche, are now committed to a full season in that car.
