Connor Zilisch will make his IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship GTP class debut in next month’s season-opening Rolex 24 at Daytona, having been confirmed as the fourth driver in the No. 31 Action Express Racing Cadillac V-Series.R.
The 19-year-old NASCAR rising star will join season-long drivers Jack Aitken, Earl Bamber and Michelin Endurance Cup pilot Frederik Vesti in the car for the Florida endurance classic.
He completed two tests in the LMDh car, including last month’s IMSA-sanctioned test at Daytona International Speedway, as an evaluation process to join the multi championship-winning squad for the race.
“I’m excited to be with Action Express Racing for the Rolex 24 at Daytona,” said Zilisch.
“The Rolex 24 is one of my favorite races and I’m thrilled to be with one of the best teams in the IMSA paddock.
“I’m very thankful to everyone at GM and Cadillac Racing for their help in making this happen.
“This is such a cool opportunity. We had a solid test in November at Daytona. I really enjoyed working with all the guys on the Whelen team and can’t wait to get back there for the race.”
Zilisch is a former Rolex 24 class winner in LMP2 competition in an Era Motorsport Oreca 07 Gibson in 2024, while also having taken part in this year’s race in a GTD Pro class Chevrolet Corvette Z06 GT3.R for Trackhouse by TF Sport.
