TR3 Racing’s Will Bamber and Elias De La Torre have scored overall poles for the pair of season opening Lamborghini Super Trofeo North America races at Sebring International Raceway.
Bamber, in the No. 29 TR3 Racing Lamborghini Huracan Super Trofeo EVO2, reeled off a best time of 2:00.093 in a delayed Q1 due to an accident by the No. 63 TR3 entry of Mateo Siderman, who crashed in Turn 1.
Race control added five minutes to the clock as action resumed with eight minutes to go.
The Kiwi’s time was just 0.071 seconds faster than Pro-Am class pole-sitter Danny Formal in the No. 10 Wayne Taylor Racing entry, while Formal’s former co-driver, Hampus Ericsson, qualifying third overall in his Pro class WTR entry.
Jayden Conwright and Al Morey completed the overall top-five with Johan Schwartz (Am) and Rocky T. Bolduc (LB Cup) claiming class pole honors for the opening race of the season.
Q2 saw Bamber’s co-driver De La Torre record a 2:01.246 lap time in the second session, which ran without any interruptions.
Marc Miller qualified second overall and on class pole in Pro-Am in his WTR entry.
The No. 48 Precision Performance Motorsports entry of David Staab (Am) and No. 95 Forty7 Motorsports entry of Chris Tasca (LB Cup) claimed class poles for the second race of the week.
Race 1 gets underway 6:05 p.m. EST this evening, with Race 2 set for Friday at 4:35 p.m. Both races will be streamed live on Peacock, as well as being available on IMSA and Lamborghini’s YouTube channels.
