US RaceTronics led the way in the opening day of official track action at Barber Motorsports Park for this weekend’s Lamborghini Super Trofeo season-opener.
The Pro-Am class No. 09 Lamborghini Huracan Super Trofeo EVO of Damon Ockey reeled off a best lap of 1:23.840 in the morning session to go quickest of the day in the single-make series.
Ockey’s time was 0.418 seconds quicker than the No. 1 Prestige Performance/WTR Lamborghini of Sandy Mitchell, who was quickest of the Pro class competitors.
“The car is doing great,” said Eidson. “We were P1 in practice and for starting off the season, you can’t really ask for much more. The US RaceTronics team is doing a great job.”
The No. 29 Change Racing entry of Richard Antinuncci was third quickest on the day, thanks to the former series’ champion’s 1:24.544 lap time that paced Practice 2 in the afternoon.
“This afternoon we decided to roll the dice and I got to start with the new tires,” said Antinucci. “Then I handed it over to Corey and he was also fast. It was a good day for us.”
McKay Snow topped the Am class in his No. 63 Change Racing Lamborghini, while the No. 43 Prestige Performance/WTR entry of Ashton Harrison was quickest in the LB Cup.
