Robert Noaker Racing’s Robert Noaker and Tyler Maxson will face off this week at Indianapolis Motor Speedway to decide the inaugural champion in Mustang Challenge.

The new-for-2024 single-make series draws to a close at The Brickyard following four competitive outings at Mid-Ohio, Watkins Glen, Road America and Circuit of The Americas that has seen four different winners in eight races.

Noaker re-took the Dark Horse class championship lead following his second win of the season in Race 2 at COTA and heads into the double-header at Indianapolis with a narrow 70-point lead over teammate Maxson.

Sam Paley, who sits third in the standings, along with fourth placed Jeremy Fletcher and Reid Sweeney, in fifth, all hold mathematical but unlikely chances of the title, only should the RNR teammates fail to roll off the grid for the pair of 45-minute title-deciding races.

In the Dark Horse Legends category, Zachry Lee, who has been undefeated since the second race of the season at Mid-Ohio in June, can clinch the championship in Race 1 at Indy.

Lee holds a commanding 440-point lead over Alex Bachoura, with Mike Stillwagon ten further points behind in third.

A total of 27 Ford Mustang Dark Horse Rs are entered for the final two races of the season, which sees Chloe Chambers make her return to the series, aboard the No. 3 Spark Performance entry.

Track action gets underway with a pair of practice sessions on Wednesday, qualifying followed by Race 1 (1:15 p.m. EDT) on Thursday and Race 2 (2 p.m. EDT) on Friday, with both races streamed live on Peacock, IMSA.tv and the Ford Performance YouTube channel.
