Llibre Paces Opening Practice at Indy

Jimmy Llibre set the pace in the opening Porsche Carrera Cup North America practice session for this weekend’s pair of races at Indianapolis Motor Speedway.

Llibre, in the No. 2 ACI Motorsports Porsche 911 GT3 Cup car, laid down a best lap of 1:26.467 in the 30-minute session to edge out Pro class points leader Loek Hartog by 0.130 seconds.

Ryan Yardley in the No. 78 Topp Racing Performance Porsche made a late-session improvement to third, with PT Autosport-backed JDX Racing’s Alex Sedgwick and Michael McCann, of Kellymoss, completed the top-five.

Pro-Am was led by the No. 99 Kellymoss Porsche of Alan Metni, while Chris Bellomo, also of Kellymoss, topped the time charts in the Masters class.

There were no major incidents reported over the course of the session, which marked the first on-track action for this weekend’s Battle on the Bricks event.

The second and final Carrera Cup practice session is set for a 2:35 p.m. EDT start time this afternoon.
