Sean McAlister will continue with JDX Racing for a third season as it moves into Porsche Carrera Cup North America competition, with the 2019 Hurley Haywood scholarship winner confirmed in the team’s lineup.

McAllister, who finished third in last year’s Porsche GT3 Cup Challenge USA by Yokohama, joins the previously announced Parker Thompson in the JDX squad.

“I can’t wait to start 2021 where we finished in 2020,” said McAlister. “I’m looking forward to getting behind the wheel of the new 992 GT3 Cup car with all its improvements over the previous generation.

“I know the guys at JDX are top notch and will provide me with the best car possible every race weekend. I can’t wait to get back in the car at Sebring.”

Jeremy Dale, the team’s managing partner added: “Sean is part of the JDX family and his development in 2020 was truly amazing.

“I know he will hit the ground running and make the most of the tools he has at his disposal and the skills he’s developed as a driver. We can’t wait to get started at Sebring for the Carrera Cup North America debut.”

Carrera Cup North America teams are at Sebring this week for a two-day pre-season test ahead of the season-opening rounds on March 18-19.
