JDX Racing has confirmed the return of Trenton Estep to its Hertz-sponsored Porsche GT3 Cup Car and a new partnership with Byers Porsche of Columbus, Ohio for the IMSA GT3 Cup Challenge USA by Yokohama.
Estep finished third in the GT3 Cup Challenge championship in his rookie season with multiple podium finishes with the Jeremy Dale-run operation.
The high school senior from San Antonio finished inside top-five in 11 of this 14 starts last year.
“Trenton was a perfect fit for JDX Racing in 2017,” Dale said. “His skill behind the wheel combined with his personal presence outside the car made him a star in our eyes and we’re so happy to have him back for 2018. His car and track knowledge, combined with team continuity, is what wins championships.
Estep added: “I’m so excited to be back for my second year in GT3 Cup with JDX Racing. We had an amazing 2017 season and to have the opportunity to be able to continue and strengthen that relationship is surely going to reap rewards in 2018.
“I’m walking into a very familiar and comfortable environment with a team that has given me everything I need to be a winner.
“We are so fortunate to have the support from our family at Hertz and being able to add Byers Porsche to our family is a great honor. I want to pay the team and our partners back by exceeding their expectations on and off the track every day.”
The team has continued its partnership with Hertz for what will be a seventh consecutive season.
