Taylors Lead Truncated Session 3 at Roar Test

Prior to the early ending of Saturday morning’s one hour and 45-minute test session due to Byron DeFoor’s accident, the No. 10 Wayne Taylor Racing Corvette DP led the TUDOR United SportsCar Championship timesheets.

Jordan Taylor set the fastest lap of the weekend thus far, in warmer and sunnier conditions, at 1:39.181.

As on Friday, the No. 60 Michael Shank Racing Ligier JS P2 Honda was close to the front in second at 1:39.342, with the No. 5 Action Express Racing Corvette DP, No. 0 DeltaWing and No. 90 VisitFlorida.com Racing Corvette DP in the top five – all separated by just 0.350 of a second.

CORE autosport led the Prototype Challenge contingent with Colin Braun clocking in a 1:41.769 in the No. 54 Oreca FLM09.

The No. 98 Aston Martin Racing Aston Martin Vantage led GT Le Mans, with Darren Turner setting the fastest time, at 1:44.476. The No. 3 Corvette Racing Corvette C7.R was second with the No. 62 Risi Competizione Ferrari F458 Italia third.

GB Autosport’s Kuba Giermaziak took the No. 81 Tully’s Coffee-sponsored Porsche 911 GT America to the top of GT Daytona at 1:47.524. The No. 33 TI Automotive-backed, Riley Motorsports Dodge Viper GT3-R was second at 1:47.545 with the No. 009 TRG-AMR Aston Martin Vantage, with Brandon Davis among that car’s lineup, third at 1:47.703.

DeFoor’s accident caused the fourth red flag of the session. Prior to that, the No. 51 AF Corse Ferrari F458 Italia had an accident and came back on a flatbed with significant left side damage. Driver Francois Perrodo was OK, but the car needed repairs.

The No. 7 Starworks Motorsport Riley-Dinan BMW spent most of the session in the garage with driver Tor Graves reporting alternator issues. Meanwhile Fred Makowiecki had an off at Turn 5 in his No. 912 Porsche North America Porsche 911 RSR.

The fourth session of the weekend and second today runs from 1:05 to 2:35 p.m. ET and local time.
