Jeremy Siffert, the grandson of the late Jo Siffert, will make his IMSA debut in next month’s pair of VP Racing SportsCar Challenge season-opening races at Daytona International Speedway.
The 22-year-old Swiss driver will be in a third Gebhardt Motorsport Duqueine D08 Nissan, alongside teammates Oscar Tunjo and Danny Soufi, who are confirmed for full-season campaigns with the German squad.
Jeremy’s grandfather, who died in a Formula 1 accident in 1971, had notable success in the U.S. with Porsche, winning the Rolex 24 at Daytona in 1968 in a Porsche 907, and also triumphing in the Mobil 1 Twelve Hours of Sebring that year.
“We are very pleased that Jeremy will continue to race for us after impressing with his speed in the 2025 Prototype Cup Germany,” said team principal Fritz Gebhardt.
“With Jeremy, we are continuing the Gebhardt Young Driver Academy, having recently celebrated numerous successes with Valentino Catalano.
“I am sure that we will have a lot of fun with him in the USA, where his grandfather achieved many successes.”
While 2025 VP Racing Challenge LMP3 champion Catalano is not slated to return to the team next year in the series, Tunjo who won two races in a limited-season program with the team, will be back behind the wheel.
He’ll be joined by reigning Prototype Cup Germany champion Soufi, who will pilot the No. 11 car.
Fritz Gebhardt added: “Oscar and Danny will compete for us in the IMSA VP SportsCar Challenge for the entire season.
“Both drivers have a wealth of experience in LMP3 racing and have established themselves as lightning-fast drivers in recent years. This, combined with our experience from last year, makes us very confident for the coming season.”
While the latest-generation LMP3s are eligible int he series beginning next year, Gebhardt has elected to remain with its tried-and-tried Nissan-powered prototypes, with IMSA declaring no plans to utilize Balance of Performance between the two generations of machinery.
VP Racing Challenge will also expand its calendar into endurance races next year, with American Jacob Williamson, who competed in European Radical racing this year, set to drive alongside Soufi, while Siffert will partner Tunjo in the two-hour races at Sebring International Raceway, Circuit of The Americas, Virginia International Raceway and Road America.
