Samantha Tan will make her IMSA multi-class series debut next year, having been confirmed in ST Racing’s GTDX entry in VP Racing SportsCar Challenge.

Tan, a BMW North America brand ambassador, will drive the team’s BMW M4 GT3 in the newly created class for GT3 machinery in the single-driver sprint race championship that also features LMP3 and GSX classes.

The effort will mark Tan’s first-ever solo racing effort with the M4 GT3, after achieving success with the car in both Fanatec GT World Challenge America powered by AWS and 24H Series competition.

“I’m thrilled to announce my step into IMSA for 2025, one of the most competitive and prestigious racing series in North America,” she said.

“My first full GT3 season this year was incredibly rewarding, pushing me to maximize every moment on and off the track.

“I’m eager to take on the challenge of a new multi-class format with LMP3, GT3, and GT4 cars, continuing to sharpen my skills against some of the best in the sport.

“I’m entering this season with a fire in my heart and my sights set firmly on the VP Challenge championship title.”

The new-for-2025 category is understood to have attracted high levels of interest, with an entry of more than ten cars.

The VP Racing Challenge season kicks off at Daytona International Speedway in January during the Roar Before the Rolex 24 weekend.
