Maurizio Leschiutta will leave his position as head of motorsport of Lamborghini at the end of the month, following a one-year stint with the Italian manufacturer.
Leschiutta took over helm of the motorsport department on Dec. 1, 2024, filling the void from longtime boss Giorgio Sanna, who left earlier in the year.
As was the case with Sanna’s exit, Lamborghini’s chief technical officer Rouven Mohr will assume the head of motorsport until a replacement is found.
A reason for Leschiutta’s departure was not given.
Among the highlights under Leschiutta’s leadership included a long-awaited victory in the CrowdStrike 24 Hours of Spa for Lamborghini with Grasser Racing Team and the development of the Lamborghini Temerario GT3, which is set to debut in next year’s Mobil 1 Twelve Hours of Sebring.
“Lamborghini would like to sincerely thank Maurizio Leschiutta for the commitment, professionalism and dedication shown during his year with Lamborghini Squadra Corse,” a statement from Lamborghini read.
“Lamborghini wishes him all the best for his future professional endeavors.”
