As Sportscar365 first reported last month, Stephan Winkelmann will leave his post as Lamborghini CEO to become the new leader of quattro GmbH, with former Ferrari F1 boss Stefano Domenicali named the new CEO for the Italian manufacturer.
Both new appointments were confirmed by Volkswagen Group on Tuesday, and will take effect March. 15.
It comes after a shakeup in Audi’s motorsports department leadership, with Head of Audi LMP1 Chris Reinke replacing Romolo Liebchen as the new Head of Audi Sport customer racing.
Liebchen, who told Sportscar365 that he stepped down to spend more time with his family, will continue in the company but with a new assignment, believed to be involved with Winkelmann at quattro GmbH.
