James Allen has been named as the third and final driver for RD Limited’s debut LMP2 lineup in the Asian Le Mans Series.
The Australian previously took last year’s European Le Mans Series LMP2 title and captured class wins in both the 24 Hours of Le Mans and the Rolex 24 at Daytona.
He will share the No. 30 Oreca 07 Gibson with Bronze-rated driver Fred Poordad and Tristan Vautier, who were confirmed in October and recently completed three days of testing at Paul Ricard.
By adding Allen, the Romain Dumas-led squad will reunite the 28-year-old with Poordad for the first time since they formed part of the Proton Competition lineup that secured a photo-finish victory at Daytona last year.
“Really excited to be joining Fred & Tristan,” said Allen.
“Romain is a well respected figure in endurance racing and I was confident he could bring together a strong group of people to put our best foot forward.
“I can’t wait to get on track at Sepang.”
The Asian Le Mans Series season kicks off with a double header at Sepang International Circuit on Dec. 7-8.
