Paul Di Resta and Phil Hanson will drive one of United Autosports’ LMP2 entries in the 2018-19 Asian Le Mans Series, the team revealed on Tuesday.
The pairing, who are both regulars with the Anglo-American team, will drive one of its two Ligier JS P2 Nissans in the four-race championship.
Di Resta and Hanson competed together in a current-gen Ligier JS P217 Gibson on several occasions this season, including at the 24 Hours of Le Mans and Mobil 1 Twelve Hours of Sebring.
Hanson won the Asian LMS LMP3 title in 2016-17 with Tockwith Motorsports before joining United, while Di Resta will make his debut appearance in the ACO-sanctioned series.
“I’m really looking forward to tackling the Asian Le Mans Series and joining United Autosports again,” Di Resta said.
“It’s obviously not something I’m used to racing over the winter but I think these far away races should be a nice winter program, working alongside Phil and trying to help him again before we get into the big races next year.
“New experiences are always good and I’m looking forward to going out there and trying to win this championship.”
United Autosports confirmed two LMP2 and two LMP3 cars for the series earlier this year, while several other teams, including Panis Barthez Competition, Spirit of Race and Algarve Pro Racing, have committed to the LMP2 class in recent weeks.
The season-opening round at Shanghai will take place on Nov. 25.
