Origine Motorsport has brought in Laurin Heinrich to spearhead its single-car Porsche effort in the upcoming Asian Le Mans Series.
Heinrich will pilot the No. 87 Porsche 911 GT3 R for the six-round series, which kicks off at Sepang International Circuit on Dec. 7-8.
The German is set to team up with Leo Ye and Yuan Bo, who were crowned Silver-Am champions with Origine in Fanatec GT World Challenge Asia powered by AWS this season.
Heinrich, meanwhile, also drove for the team in three Fanatec GT Asia rounds, taking Pro-Am class wins at Sepang and Suzuka that helped full-season driver Lu Wei secure second place in the standings.
Porsche is well-represented on the Asian Le Mans grid, with Origine’s effort further joined by an expanded two-car entry from Manthey Racing, as well as further presence from Car Collection Motorsport, Proton Competition, Tsunami RT and the Iron Dames.
Both Heinrich and Ye will first compete in this weekend’s FIA GT World Cup at Macau, where the latter will join Origine while Heinrich is set to pilot a Schumacher CLRT Porsche for his event debut.
