Bronze-rated GT3 racer Ian Loggie will make his LMP2 debut joining Nielsen Racing in the Asian Le Mans Series, teaming up with Alejandro Garcia and Ferdinand Habsburg.
Loggie, last year’s champion in the Intelligent Money British GT Championship, will pilot the British squad’s No. 24 Oreca 07 Gibson in the five-round championship, which kicks off with a double header at Malaysia’s Sepang International Circuit on Dec. 2-3.
The 61-year-old has achieved previous success in Asian LMS, winning the GT Am title in 2022 in an SPS Automotive Performance-entered Mercedes-AMG GT3 Evo alongside Mikael Grenier and Valentin Pierburg.
Loggie isn’t the only driver in the Nielsen lineup to step up to LMP2 competition, as he is joined by Mexican LMP3 racer Garcia.
Garcia clinched the LMP3 title with Cool Racing with a race to spare at the European Le Mans Series double header finale at Portimao, teaming with Marcos Siebert and Adrien Chila.
The lineup for the No. 24 car is completed by LMP2 regular Habsburg. The Austrian driver finished in second place at the recent 8 Hours of Bahrain and previously enjoyed title success in both the ELMS and FIA World Endurance Championship.
