GetSpeed Performance will make its Asian Le Mans Series debut in February with a two-car Mercedes-AMG program that includes factory driver Raffaele Marciello.
The Nürburgring-based squad will field the No. 10 Mercedes-AMG for Marciello, Fabian Schiller and Florian Scholze and the No. 16 car for Alexandre Imperatori, Zhou Bihuang and Wang Zhongwei.
Marciello, who won several accolades this year including Fanatec GT World Challenge Europe powered by AWS, ADAC GT Masters and the TotalEnergies 24 Hours of Spa, is returning to Asian LMS after previously representing HubAuto Racing in 2021.
The Swiss racer is teaming up with GetSpeed regular Schiller, who finished second at the Nürburgring 24, and Bronze-rated Scholze who formerly drove for the team in GTWC Europe Endurance Cup before switching to Haupt Racing Team this year.
Scholze also contested the most recent Asian LMS campaign with Audi squad Attempto Racing.
Imperatori will lead the No. 16 GetSpeed lineup but the China-based Swiss driver is set for his Mercedes-AMG debut, having primarily driven Porsche and Nissan GT3 machinery in recent years.
His Chinese co-drivers have raced in Porsche Carrera Cup Asia and Chinese national championships but are now stepping up to the international stage in GT3.
“The races in the Asian Le Mans Series will be a challenge for us,” said GetSpeed team principal Adam Osieka.
“In the end, however, we benefit from the experience we gained on the Nordschleife years ago, when we weren’t yet competing with vehicles in the leading group.
“In the Asian LMS we drive the Mercedes-AMG GT3 in a field together with significantly more powerful LMP2 and LMP3 vehicles.
“Here it is important to read the race in a special way in order to make the right strategic decisions. We look forward to the new task.”
