Paul di Resta and Phil Fayer will complete United Autosports’ lineup in its No. 6 Oreca 07 Gibson for its upcoming return to the Asian Le Mans Series, as the first complete lineup confirmed by the Anglo-American team.
Di Resta and Fayer join the previously nominated Ben Hanley in the LMP2 entry for the 2025/26 campaign, which will kick off at Sepang International Circuit in December.
It comes following confirmation that the Bronze-rated Canadian driver, who took part in the two IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship LMP2 sprint rounds this season, will be with the team for a full-season WeatherTech Championship campaign next year.
“I’m excited to be joining the Asian Le Mans Series with United Autosports,” says Fayer. “It’s a great complement to my IMSA program, giving me valuable seat time on a compressed schedule.
“I’m especially excited to partner with Paul di Resta and Ben Hanley and learn from their experience as we push for results together this season.”
Hanley, a former Asian LMS champion, has been a team regular with the Richard Dean and Zak Brown co-owned squad since 2023, while di Resta will also make his return to the series after teaming with Phil Hanson to win the LMP2 title in 2018/19.
“It’s nice to be doing a championship over the winter months and the Asian grid is going from strength to strength, I think it’s going to be very competitive,” he said. “Hopefully we can go there, have some fun, work closely with Phil and deliver results for the team. That’s what we’re there to do.”
United will be entering a total of three cars, two LMP2s and a McLaren 720S GT3 Evo, in the series, marking its return for the first time since the 2022/23 season.
“This lineup is very exciting, it has huge potential,” said Dean. “Phil is going from strength to strength, he is learning more with every lap during our ongoing testing program – and Paul and Ben are two proven championship winners in the ALMS.
“They are vastly experienced, consistently fast, committed and reliable, and that is why they are such an established part of the United Autosports team across multiple championships. Together, I am looking forward to seeing what they can achieve.”
Gregoire Saucy (LMP2) and Wayne Boyd (GT) are so far nominated for the team’s two other entries.
While Fayer will be dovetailing an Asian winter campaign alongside his WeatherTech Championship effort, Daniel Goldburg, the team’s other Bronze-rated driver in IMSA next year, has ruled out a parallel program.
