Tristan Vautier and Fred Poordad have been named as the first two drivers for RD Limited’s debut LMP2 campaign in the Asian Le Mans Series.

The French prototype veteran and American Bronze-rated driver will pilot the No. 30 Oreca 07 Gibson for the six-round championship, which kicks off with a double header at the Sepang International Circuit on Dec. 7-8.

In the process, they will reform a partnership that saw the two drivers race together in the LMP2 Pro-Am class during last year’s European Le Mans Series campaign, resulting in a best finish of fourth at Motorland Aragon.

Vautier has spent the 2024 season racing with Team Virage as well as performing test and development duties for Vanwall Racing.

Poordad is a former Rolex 24 at Daytona class winner, but has spent 2024 on the sidelines after previously also competing in the FIA World Endurance Championship, Intercontinental GT Challenge and Fanatec GT World Challenge America powered by AWS.

RD Limited, the team founded by three-time 24 Hours of Le Mans winner Romain Dumas, will be making its first LMP2 appearance after previously competing in the likes of the Pikes Peak Hill Climb and Dakar Rally.

Based out of Ales in Southern France, the team has enlisted veteran engineer Brice Gaillardon for its maiden venture in prototype racing.

The third driver for its No. 30 Oreca will be “announced in the coming weeks,” the team has stated.
