Mathias Beche and Thiriet by TDS Racing once again found themselves at the top of the time sheets after the second Free Practice session for Saturday’s European Le Mans Series season-opener at Silverstone.
On a drier track than earlier, a 1:49.320 from Beche put the No. 46 Oreca 05 Nissan out front, an impressive 2.046 seconds ahead of second-placed DragonSpeed entry. Nicolas Lapierre had led the American team.
Pegasus Racing’s sole Morgan Nissan was third, while Panis-Barthez Competition holds fourth. The two SMP Racing cars were fifth and sixth quickest, with the No. 44 BR Engineering BR01 Nissan ahead of the No. 32 entry.
Dino Lunardi remained on top in LMP3, and has now led both sessions for Duqueine Engineering in the team’s Ligier JS P3 Nissan. His best time in the afternoon session was a 1:57.226.
This puts Lunardi 0.425 seconds clear of Enzo Guibbert in Graff’s No. 9 car. The sister No. 10 car is third, piloted by Sean Rayhall.
AT Racing was on the pace in GTE, with the similar JMW Motorsport Ferrari F458 Italia GT second on the time sheets in class, with Stuart Hall’s No. 96 Aston martin third in class.
The SRT41 By OAK Racing entry had all three drivers behind the wheel, but Christophe Tinseau was fastest, setting a lap time of 1:55.102.
Next up is qualifying, set for 10:50 a.m. local time.
