Romain Brandela will complete the lineup for NewBlood by Morand Racing in the European Le Mans Series, it was confirmed Thursday.
The 40-year-old Frenchman, a stalwart in the Blancpain Endurance Series and French GT Championship, joins the previously announced duo of Christian Klien and Gary Hirsch in the Swiss squad’s Morgan-Judd.
Brandela got his first experience of a LMP2 car last year, piloting a Lola-Judd entered by DKR Engineering.
“For me, it is a kind of dream to get more experience in LMP2 in such a great environment,” Brandela said. “I hope I will learn a lot with such a team and such talented drivers.
“I also hope I can contribute to the story and success of the team, [team owner] Benoit Morand and his crew can rely on my involvement and dedication to bring the best results for the team.”
The newly renamed team is one more than a dozen LMP2 entries expected to take part in the five-round championship, which kicks off at Silverstone next month.
