European Le Mans Series racer Gregoire Saucy has become the latest addition to the McLaren Driver Development Program.
Saucy, 26, joins the scheme after two seasons of part of United Autosports, the team co-owned by McLaren Racing CEO Zak Brown that is set to field the British manufacturer’s FIA World Endurance Championship Hypercar effort starting next year.
The Swiss driver has been part of the United LMGT3 effort in the WEC for the last two seasons, driving a McLaren 720S GT3 Evo, and was then added to the Anglo-American outfit’s driver lineup for the ELMS in the LMP2 class last year.
In 2026, Saucy will continue to contest the full ELMS for United alongside selected outings in the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship, having already been part of the team’s lineup for January’s Rolex 24 at Daytona.
In addition, he will “test within the McLaren Racing portfolio” that also includes the Woking-based marque’s Formula 1 and IndyCar Series efforts.
McLaren Racing’s chief business affairs officer Alessandro Alunni Bravi commented: “Gregoire has impressed in multiple racing categories, providing an excellent foundation for his development in our pathways.
“We look forward to seeing Gregoire’s progress this year across his racing and testing in endurance categories.”
“I’m really excited to be joining the McLaren Driver Development Program,” said Saucy. “The program offers really important support and a wide range of opportunities as I continue my development across all aspects of being a driver.
“It’s a great environment to be in, and I’m looking forward to working with the incredible team at McLaren. Thank you to Zak and Alessandro for this opportunity.”
Saucy joins fellow ELMS racer Richard Verschoor on the McLaren Driver Development Program, with the Dutchman set to drive for Duqueine this year as he makes the switch to sports car racing after a lengthy tenure in FIA Formula 2.
