United Autosports has lost its LMP3 class win in the Four Hours of Red Bull Ring to a time penalty, giving the class victory to Eurointernational in the final standings.
After taking LMP3 class honors for the second time this season with John Falb and Sean Rayhall, the No. 2 Ligier JS P3 Nissan has been given a 25-second time penalty due to a full-course caution infringement.
Falb was found to have breached Article 10.12.1 a) of the ELMS Sporting Regulations by failing to reduce to 80 km/h soon enough, resulting in a drive-through penalty which has been converted to a post-race time penalty.
This moves the Anglo-American squad to second place finish in the final results, while Giorgio Mondini and Davide Uboldi inherit the class win in the No. 11 Eurointernational Ligier that had led much of the race.
Elsewhere, a one-minute time penalty was given to the SMP Racing Dallara P217 Gibson for drive time limits, with Egor Orudzhev falling 30.525 seconds under the two-hour, 20-minute minimum in a two-driver LMP2 lineup.
