Factory Porsche driver Julien Andlauer will contest this year’s 24 Hours of Le Mans in the LMP2 class for the first time with the Duqueine team.
Andlauer will share the French outfit’s No. 30 Oreca 07 Gibson with two of the squad’s European Le Mans Series regulars, Richard Verschoor and Doriane Pin, for the FIA World Endurance Championship blue riband on June 13-14.
The 26-year-old moves to the LMP2 class following Porsche Penske Motorsport’s withdrawal from the WEC’s Hypercar class, which has left the Weissach marque with no representation in the top class at La Sarthe this year.
Andlauer switched to the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship full-time this year, and is part of the No. 7 crew that has won both the Rolex 24 at Daytona and the Mobil 1 Twelve Hours of Sebring together with Felipe Nasr and Laurin Heinrich, but expressed interest in making a one-off return to Le Mans.
In eight previous starts he has contested the GTE-Am class six times, taking victory on debut in 2018 for Dempsey-Proton Racing, and the Hypercar class twice at the wheel of a Porsche 963, for Proton Competition in 2024 and PPM last year.
McLaren junior Verschoor will be making his Le Mans debut this year, while newly-minted Peugeot WEC development driver Pin gears up for her second start in the French classic, having raced in the LMP2 class for the Prema team in 2023.
