The full lineup for the 2026 FIA World Endurance Championship season has been finalized after The Heart of Racing squad revealed that Jonny Adam and Eduardo Barrichello will drive its No. 23 Aston Martin Vantage GT3 Evo.

Following Alpine’s confirmation last week of Charles Milesi and Jules Gounon continuing in its Hypercar operation, the Aston team was the last to reveal its complete lineup.

But it has now revealed that Aston stalwart Adam will partner Barrichello alongside the already-announced rookie Gray Newell in the second car as part of its expanded two-pronged LMGT3 bid.

For Adam, it represents a first WEC campaign since the 2019-20 ‘superseason’, as he has focused on the European Le Mans Series and British GT in recent years.

The Scot said he is “super excited” to be making a series comeback, having twice taken GT class honours in the 24 Hours of Le Mans in the past.

“Teaming up with Dudu [Barrichello], who had some awesome performances last season in LMGT3, alongside supporting Gray’s first year in WEC and the Le Mans 24 Hours is something that I’m really getting fully involved in,” said Adam.

“The goal is to gain experience along the way and hopefully have some successful results for the team with the Aston Martin
Vantage. I believe that’s entirely possible with this lineup.”

Barrichello, meanwhile, is already a part of Heart of Racing’s IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship lineup but will now also contest the WEC with squad, having finished 15th in last year’s LMGT3 standings with fellow Aston outfit Racing Spirit of Leman.

However, there are two clashes between the WEC and the WeatherTech championship this year and team boss James has suggested to Sportscar365 that the Brazilian’s commitments in America will take priority.

James had already confirmed that the sister Vantage would retain its lineup from last year with James himself being partnered with Mattia Drudi and Zacharie Robichon after finishing fourth in last year’s LMGT3 standings.

“We know that Gray has the potential to shine in WEC, based on his performances in other categories and because he’s grown up as a driver within the THOR family,” said James.

“The best chance we can give Gray is to pair him with someone super-fast and renowned for his ability to nurture less experienced co-drivers to get the best out of them. There is no one in the business more suited to this role than Jonny.

“Meanwhile, with Dudu, his performances in WEC last year were outstanding, and he has already proved himself a vital part of our 2026 IMSA GTD program.

“This is a very strong lineup and I can’t wait to see what we can achieve with our two Vantages in 2026.”
