Alpine has confirmed that Paul-Loup Chatin will depart its FIA World Endurance Championship Hypercar lineup, ahead of the Frenchman’s likely move to Genesis Magma Racing.

Chatin drove the Alpine A424 LMDh car for two seasons in WEC, peaking with the car’s breakthrough maiden victory in the 6 Hours of Fuji in September.

As previously reported by Sportscar365, the 34-year-old informed Alpine earlier this year of his intention to leave the program and has been strongly linked to Genesis Magma Racing’s LMDh program, which still has two vacant seats to fill ahead of its debut season in 2026.

Chatin’s departure brings an end to his second tenure with the Philippe Sinault-led Signatech operation, which runs the Alpine Hypercar effort.

He previously drove for the team in the LMP2 category between 2014 and 2016, most notably securing the European Le Mans Series LMP2 title in his first season.

Alpine, for its part, already confirmed the signing of Antonio Felix da Costa last month, while question marks still remain over Mick Schumacher’s future with the French manufacturer.
