Jamie Chadwick has been named the official reserve driver for Genesis Magma Racing’s FIA World Endurance Championship Hypercar program, having recently completed her first laps at the wheel of the GMR-001 LMDh car in a test at Magny-Cours.
The 27-year-old has been part of the Genesis ‘Trajectory Program’ and contested a full season in the European Le Mans Series LMP2 class alongside Mathys Jaubert and Daniel Juncadella.
While her co-drivers were announced to form part of the driver lineup for the GMR-001’s debut WEC campaign, Genesis also confirmed that Chadwick would remain part of the Trajectory Program and completed her first test with the car at Magny-Cours in late October.
Chadwick joined Jaubert, Juncadella, Andre Lotterer and Pipo Derani at the test and completed an initial run on wet tires, followed by a dry run the next day.
“It’s hugely special to be involved in the development of the GMR-001 Hypercar,” said Chadwick.
“It’s another progression in my career and one I’m really proud of.
“Becoming a Reserve Driver in Hypercar is one step closer to my ultimate goal.
“The opportunity to test and drive more is something that I’m really looking forward to and a role that I’m going to try to relish and make the most of.
“The development role can also be a huge help to my racing.
“Obviously, Hypercar is a step up in terms of everything that you’re learning, but you can still take that back to other categories and series just from the constant testing and working with the engineers.”
Genesis has outlined that Chadwick will take on more development work in the final part of 2025 and throughout the 2026 season, which will include responsibilities both at the circuit as well as in the simulator.
Chadwick’s role as WEC reserve driver will come in addition to a racing program that will be confirmed at a later date, although she is expected to return to ELMS competition for a second consecutive season.
Genesis is also yet to confirm the two remaining names for its Hypercar driver lineup ahead of the team’s WEC debut, with Paul-Loup Chatin and Mathieu Jaminet widely tipped to fill the vacant seats.
