Chris Dyson will make his first race start at the wheel of Team LNT’s Ginetta G60-LT-P1 AER in next month’s 8 Hours of Bahrain, it has been confirmed.
The former IMSA champion, who was due to contest the full 2019-20 FIA World Endurance Championship season with the British squad, had been ruled out of the opening three rounds for a variety of issues.
It began with a wrist injury that saw the last-minute substitution of Oliver Jarvis for the season-opener at Silverstone, while a clash with his title-contending efforts in Trans Am ruled the second-generation driver out of Fuji.
Dyson told Sportscar365 that business commitments, meanwhile, will prevent him from taking part in next weekend’s 4 Hours of Shanghai, which will again see Ginetta factory driver Mike Simpson join Guy Smith and Charlie Robertson in the LMP1 non-hybrid.
Dyson had a seat fitting at LNT/Ginetta’s facility in Leeds last week alongside his two co-drivers (pictured above) in anticipation for his Bahrain drive.
Jordan King, meanwhile, has been confirmed in the team’s sister No. 5 entry for Shanghai, replacing Luca Ghiotto for the Chinese round.
No word has been given on the lineup of the No. 5 car, which has featured Ben Hanley and Egor Orudzhev since the start of the season, for Bahrain.
