Ferrari employees, the tifosi and citizens of Maranello celebrated Ferrari’s FIA World Endurance Championship-winning season in a town-wide event on Thursday.
The Italian manufacturer, which also won its third consecutive 24 Hours of Le Mans, was on full display, with a parade from Ferrari’s headquarters through the roads of Maranello with both of the factory 499Ps, which ended at the Ferrari museum.
The drivers also took part in an autograph session before having lunch with employees.
Ferrari ended a 53-year drought since its previous title success in a sports car world championship, which came in 1972 with the 312PB.
Alessandro Pier Guidi, Antonio Giovinazzi and James Calado, meanwhile, won the drivers’ world championship, ahead of the satellite AF Corse-entered 499P of Robert Kubica, Yifei Ye and Phil Hanson, which won Le Mans.
Third place in the world championship went to the No. 50 Ferrari trio of Antonio Fuoco, Nicklas Nielsen and Miguel Molina, completing a 1-2-3 sweep.
All factory drivers from the Nos. 50 and 51 drivers were in attendance on Thursday, except for Calado, who had personal commitments.
